Nanoq, der Eisbär ist der Größte der Bärenfamilie und das größte an Land lebende Säugetier. Im Gegensatz zu seinen Verwandten, den Braunbären hält er keinen Winterschlaf – der Winter ist die beste Zeit um Robben auf dem Packeis zu jagen.

Der Eisbär hat eine enge Verbindung zum Großen Geist und bringt uns dadurch den Geheimnissen des Lebens näher. In Grönland heißt er auch Tornassuk, der Herr der helfenden Geister.

Ein anderer spiritueller Name ist `der Große Wanderer`- er bereist alle Welten. Er ist schnell – an Land und im Wasser. Er klettert und taucht. Er meistert die extremsten Situationen und ist sehr anpassungsfähig. Er ist so gut gegen die Kälte der Arktis isoliert, das Infrarot Aufnahmen von ihm nicht möglich sind.
